Content Policy for Packs

We're all about free, open educational content! Especially:

• Language learning materials
• Science and math concepts
• History and geography facts
• Trivia, fun facts, and general knowledge
• Appropriate humor, jokes, and memes
• Study materials you created yourself
• Public domain information
• Clearly labeled content with honest descriptions

Please keep the following off Optimem:

• Copyright infringement. You must have created all content yourself or have explicit permission from the rights holder to use it. Any third-party content you include must be compatible with the license you select during upload.
• Anything inappropriate, explicit, harmful, or illegal
• Highly sensitive or controversial topics
• Hateful, discriminatory, or offensive material
• Personal info without permission
• Deliberate misinformation
• Any forms of malware or content attempting to compromise device security
• Spam, advertisement, or promotional content

A few practical guidelines to keep in mind:

• Keep packs under 100MB (our servers thank you)
• Use sufficient resolution for images, audio, videos (no potato quality, please)
• Make sure your content is properly cited if you're using someone else's work
• You may use AI to help generate content, but please disclose your use — see our AI policy
• Avoid "AI slop" — low effort, low quality AI-generated content with no human touch

When you submit content (such as a learning pack and its associated text, images, audio, and video) to Optimem, you grant Organic Software (the company behind Optimem) a license to use, modify, distribute, and commercially use your content (yes, even if you mark it as non-commercial for others). Think of it like giving us a special pass — so that we may unambiguously distribute your content to others inside Optimem — while still setting rules for everyone else. You can end this by deleting your content from Optimem.

We aim to be responsible and trustworthy stewards of your content. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know. We're here for creators, educators, and learners like you.

A few things to keep in mind when you share stuff:

• You're responsible for what you upload — ensure you have the rights, it meets our content policy, and it complies with all laws of your jurisdiction.
• Be honest and clear about what your pack contains and how it's licensed.

Here's what we may do to keep things awesome:

• We reserve the right, but not the obligation, to review, screen, refuse, make adjustments to, or remove any content uploaded to the platform at our sole discretion.
• Violation of these terms may result in content removal, account suspension, or termination without prior notice.
• We may cooperate with law enforcement authorities in investigating suspected illegal activity.
• We won't resell your content to third parties, or share it outside of Optimem without your permission. Read more in our privacy policy.
